Memory Quilting

This project explores quiltmaking as a way to document memory, using textile and fibre-based practices to reflect on themes relating to personal expression, materiality, and feminism. Through reimagined childhood memories, diary entries, and speculative futures, I use quilting to tell personal stories that connect with broader cultural and social issues. The work looks at how traditional “women’s work” can be revalued and reinterpreted, challenging the usual boundaries between craft and design. By combining the personal with the political, the project highlights how textiles can be a powerful, accessible way to explore identity, emotion, and feminist perspectives.
