Take a Breath

Commuting to Glasgow and walking in the streets of Glasgow can often be busy and chaotic, overwhelming a person. This space is designed to allow users to take a minute to relax and re-centre themselves before they go into the building’s main spaces, whether that be workshop classes or, more importantly, attending support groups where a person will lower their guard and talk about their experiences. The user’s mental state is always a primary factor.

Waiting Area

When there are multiple users with mixed emotions within a space, this can often affect the overall atmosphere. Designed to provide a serene environment that allows people to feel at ease while they wait for their consultation appointments, support meetings or workshop classes. By using dark timber and nature, the space can also convey a sense of relaxation and stability, especially when individuals may feel stressed or apprehensive, and perhaps encourage users to talk while waiting. While keeping in mind the mixed users the space will be used by,  the space is designed to be spacious and straightforward, able to seat a family/ group or a pair or individual people. For those with wheelchairs or prams, and keeping in mind teens and kids, the added feature of a simple bit of fun by adding the feature of basket seats for them to have the option to sit tells the message that the space is for them as well.

Wig Infrormation Display Area

A dark timber display space brings warmth and an inviting environment. The purpose of the display space is to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the wigs while providing a pleasant atmosphere that encourages exploration and engagement. Not only showcases the wigs but also creates an enjoyable experience for anyone interacting with the space. With information boards about the various manufactured wigs ( Acrylic, human hair, heat-friendly wigs) on offer and their differences between the types, offering a touch screen showcasing different wigs in their multiple colours, it not only allows first-time wig users to view wigs but also learn about the wigs on offer along with long time wig wears to see new styles on show all within a safe environment. A small table with an interactive touch screen in the middle of the space provides the same information but in a more child-friendly way with short videos and a fun character creator where they can create themselves and add different wig styles to their character providing a distraction from having to wait till thier appointment while making their situation more fun and less overwhelming.
